Nampalys Mendy has reportedly told Leicester he wants a return to France for next season.
The French midfielder only joined the club last summer, as a replacement for N”Golo Kante who joined Chelsea. He was subject to a £13m deal on a four-year contract from French club Rennes.
However last season he picked up an injury which saw him only play nine times for The Foxes. Once he was out of the side, it was difficult to get back in, especially when Ranieri went and Shakespeare took Leicester on an unbeaten run.
The interested club in Mendy is Bordeaux and Nantes, however his heart is set on a move to Bordeaux. According to French outlet L’Equipe, the defensive midfielder was quoted saying, ‘Anyway, since my adviser talked to me about the possibility of joining Bordeaux, I’m set on it.’
Whether he will get the move he wants is one question, and after paying £13m last summer, what will Leicester be willing to let him go for this window.
